At K9 Connections we believe educating individuals and families on how to exist and communicate with their dog is one of the most important services we can offer. Training people for their dogs is what makes our programs truly successful.

At the end of your dog’s Board & Train program, you will be expected to complete two, 2-hour discharge programs, where we transfer the skills and methods of training onto you. You will be taught and educated on how to work with your dog effectively and positively.

• We will show you how to communicate clearly with your dogs using methods they understand, such as body language, tone of voice and simple commands.

• We will review how to maintain engagement and focus with your dog.

•You will practice leash leadership and proper leash handling.

• You will learn when to correct unwanted behaviours and when to reinforce desired behaviours.

• You will be trained on all tools safely and shown how to use them effectively.

• You will be educated on creating boundaries and structure in your environments.

• Continuous learning will also take place in your follow-up session which will take place after your discharge. Depending on the length of your program, you will receive 2-4 follow-up visits at your home which are included in your program.

The people who put in the effort to learn about connecting with their dogs will have no issues maintaining the training methods.
